Who runs this site
The controller of the information you send through this site is Ajay Singh, sole trader, trading as Mould and Damp. ICO registration number: ZC284176.
For anything about your data, or anything else on this page, email [email protected].
What the form collects
Only what you type or attach:
- the postcode of the property
- whether you're the homeowner, the landlord or the letting agent
- what's affected and what you can see, the type of property and how soon you need help
- if you let or manage property, roughly how many homes
- up to three photos, if you choose to add them
- your name, email address and phone number
- that you ticked the box agreeing to us passing your details on, whether you ticked the optional box about a follow-up, and which page you sent the form from
If you say you're a tenant, the form stops there and nothing is sent. Should a tenant's details reach me another way, I delete them and don't pass them to anyone.
Photos are sent as email attachments with your enquiry. If a photo shows something personal, such as a document or a family photo on the wall, consider taking another one.
What I do with it, and the lawful basis
I pass your enquiry to one independent damp and mould specialist who works in your area, so they can get in touch about the problem. The lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw it whenever you like by emailing me. That stops any further sharing, but it can't call back details a specialist already has.
The optional follow-up
There's a second tick box, left blank unless you tick it. If you do, I may contact you after the work by email or phone to ask how it went: did the specialist turn up, do what they said and charge what they quoted? Your answers help me decide which specialists keep getting enquiries.
Nothing you say in a follow-up will be published, and your name won't appear anywhere, unless I ask you separately and you agree.
If you don't tick the box, you won't hear from me about it. If you tick it and later change your mind, reply to the follow-up or email [email protected]. This consent is separate from the first one, so you can withdraw either on its own. Follow-ups only happen while I still hold your enquiry, which is no more than 12 months.
Who else sees your details
One specialist, covering your postcode. From the moment they receive your enquiry they're responsible for how they use it, under their own privacy notice. I don't sell your details or pass them to anyone else.
The site and the form run on Cloudflare, which receives each submission and sends it by email to my inbox, which is hosted by Google (Gmail). Enquiries aren't stored in a database. Cloudflare and Google may process data outside the UK, under the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
How long it's kept
Up to 12 months, then deleted. I may keep a count of enquiries, by area and month, with nothing in it that identifies you.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email [email protected] and you'll have an answer within one month. If your enquiry has already gone to a specialist, I'll tell you who, so you can ask them as well.
If you're not happy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Cookies and analytics
The site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Page views may be counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies and doesn't follow you to other sites.
Terms of use
- A matching service, not a contractor. Mould and Damp doesn't carry out, check, supervise or guarantee any work. Any contract for work is between you and the specialist.
- Specialists are independent. They aren't employed by, vetted by or accredited by Mould and Damp. Ask them about insurance, guarantees and trade body membership before you agree to anything.
- Free to you. Sending an enquiry costs nothing, and you don't have to accept a quote.
- General information. Price ranges on the site come from the published cost guides named next to them. They're not quotes. Guides about the law, including Awaab's Law, are general information, not legal advice. Each one links to the official source; check it, and get advice on your own situation if you need to.
- No guarantee of cover. There may not always be a specialist free in your area, or able to come by a particular date.
- Other websites. Links to councils, gov.uk, the NHS and others are there to help. I'm not responsible for what those sites say.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
